Gynecomastia is also known as male breast reduction surgery and has become very popular amongst males in recent years due to a pressure to look good and presentable at all times. Gynecomastia involves excess male breast development.
It can be caused due to various reasons such as weight gain. Loss in weight, hormone imbalances, fatty tumours and drugs like steroids. Gynecomastia treatment involves stopping the use of agents which cause it and also involves use of conventional or laser assisted liposuction.
Most often the scars are hidden in the breast folds and around the areola which is the darker skin around the nipple. The choice of the technique to be used is individually determined and depends on the size of the breast tissue, the calculation of the amount of fat versus actual breast tissue as well as the amount of breast droop in a person.
